Meta Cafe is relaunching next Friday, September 5th!
For those of you who are new to us, Meta Cafe is a monthly event that is held on the first Friday of each month. It’s open to anyone age 18 and up. At it’s heart, Meta Cafe is a Wi-Fi internet cafe, complete with snacks, dessert, and coffee. Simply bring your laptop and you’re all set.
But Meta Cafe is so much more than that. It’s a social gathering, a place to meet new people and hang out with friends. The idea is we provide the venue, and then you can decide what it is you’d like to do. Besides the aforementioned cafe, we have a whole slew of games for you and your friends to take part in–card games, board games, video games–you name it.
We’ll have Rock Band going on in the lobby, as well as games like Wii Sports, Halo 3, Boom Blox and Mario Kart. There are games for every level, whether you’re a hardcore gamer, or a total novice. And If sitting around and sipping lattes or jamming to your favorite songs in Rock Band isn’t your style, then we also have our volleyball court set up in the gym.
There’s something for everyone happening at Meta Cafe. Come out next Friday night from 8:00 pm to midnight. You can find directions here on the blog, and you can join our group on Facebook and receive reminders of when the next Meta Cafe is coming.
One last thing: Invite your friends! This is a great place to get to know people in a really casual and fun environment. If you’re looking for an alternative thing to do on a Friday, I gaurentee Meta Cafe won’t disappoint. See you there!
